honesty
It is important that a bottom is up-front with the TOP about how much experience he has. During the action he should be honest and open in his emotions - neither bottling up his responses nor over-acting in an attempt to "control" the scene or win favour with the TOP. A good TOP will always recognise when a bottom is faking it - and should ensure that play-acting is punished.
obedience
It is axiomatic that a bottom should at all times follow instruction: smartly and to the letter.
submission
A bottom should never resist the TOP. He should take what the TOP judges to be appropriate for him. Letting go is both the mission and the reward of being a bottom. (And it is the responsibility of the TOP to ensure the continuing safety of the bottom.)
